Youth Transformation Agency Leadership Transition
To our partners and friends in the community,
It’s with full hearts and deep gratitude that we share some important news: the incredible Kim Young, our Program Director, has transitioned out of her role at The Hive.

We’ve been undergoing a period of intentional organizational restructuring — a process rooted in our commitment to evolving with the needs of our community and expanding our impact for young people.
While this transition is bittersweet, we are holding it with love. Kim has led with vision, integrity, and heart, helping to shape not only our programs but the culture and care that define our work. Her legacy will continue to ripple outward through the relationships she’s nurtured and the systems she’s strengthened.
We are endlessly grateful for Kim’s contributions and are sending her into her next chapter with admiration and support.
We’re excited about what this evolution will make possible — for our team, our community, and most of all, for the young people we serve. Your partnership and continued belief in our mission means everything.
Thank you for walking with us through seasons of change and possibility.

But, wait, there's more!
We've been holding this news close, because we immediately dove into the process of finding a new director for our programs. As part of this transformation, we reimagined how leadership shows up across our programs.
With this shift, we are excited to announce our new Youth Transformation Agency (YTA) Director Kristin Lennox!
What's the Youth Transformation Agency? That's the department at The Hive that manages all things related to the young people who come to us for support and the ecosystem that helps them successfully transition into adulthood.
In this new role, Kristin will guide the strategic direction of the Youth Transformation Agency, leveraging partnerships, increasing The Hive's visibility in the community, and helping us imagine how we transition our work into The Hive Campus.
Send Kristin a welcome message at kristin@thehivemovement.org.

Bio
Kristin Lennox (she/her/We) is the owner and operator of Onward Consulting and Care Services, LLC, where she is available for consultation, SoulCollage® workshops, trainings, speaking engagements, and strategy development. Kristin also provides therapy as a contracted licensed clinical social worker with Roots to Results Counseling and Fraser & Associates Complete Therapeutic Services.
Kristin’s life and work experiences make her an adept yet curious asset in spaces dedicated to collective liberation, healing centered initiatives, trauma-informed care, and youth-driven projects. Kristin's early work as a community-based crisis and trauma therapist with young people and families educated her in the hard realities of supporting the most marginalized and over-exploited communities, but also radicalized her to pursue systems-level change. Kristin transitioned from full-time clinical work into policy advocacy where she supported advocates influencing state-level change at the Virginia General Assembly. After over a decade of working in the non-profit sector, Kristin recently transitioned to consultancy and continues to support the growth and development of local non-profits as a Board member at The Innerwork Center and Sub:Culture Inc.
Kristin is a double alum of Virginia Commonwealth University where she currently teaches in the BSW program. In her free time, Kristin loves to dance and perform with the Richmond Pilipino Class, read fiction and non-fiction, craft and collage, practice mindfulness, take long meandering walks to nowhere, and go on adventures with her friends and family.
